Oscar De la Rosa has considerable trial experience in his diverse civil litigation practice. He has represented public companies, privately-held companies and prominent individuals in a wide range of litigation matters involving energy, banking, health care, catastrophic injury, international trade, civil conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, contracts, deceptive trade practices, defamation, products liability (pharmaceutical), tortious interference with contractual relations, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and legal malpractice. He is fluent in Spanish and has represented international clients headquartered in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Bolivia, as well as throughout the United States. Oscar is admitted to practice before the state courts of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.

  • Won unanimous jury verdict on behalf of major health care system sued for $20 million after allegedly causing a patient’s brain injury and total incapacitation
  • Won arbitration proceeding on behalf of major health care institution sued by a software developer for alleged copyright violations
  • Won arbitration proceeding on behalf of a diversified financial services company in a dispute involving alleged financial fraud and defamation
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of independent oil and gas company accused of causing a career-ending injury aboard an offshore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of oil field equipment manufacturer in case involving commissions on the sale of natural gas compression equipment to buyers in Pakistan       
  • Won dismissal of all claims on behalf of one of the largest insurance companies in Mexico in coverage lawsuit arising from seven-figure wrongful death judgment
  • Won unanimous defense verdict on behalf of major health care institution in case involving sudden death of a patient following routine prostate cancer surgery
  • Won jury verdict for major health care institution in a medical malpractice case involving brain damage allegedly caused by trauma during an x-ray procedure
  • Won summary judgment in a legal malpractice claim on behalf of a nationally-recognized trial lawyer with more than a billion dollars in verdicts
  • Won dismissal in federal court of breach of contract claims against one of largest private engineering and construction firms in Mexico
  • Won jury verdict for major health care institution in a premises liability case of alleged toxic exposure
  • Defeated a plaintiff’s attempt to place a large, multi-national retail chain into receivership
  • Successfully defended prominent health care providers before the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Defended prominent Houston art museum sued in Indiana for possessing allegedly stolen rare masterpieces
  • Obtained multi-million dollar insurance recovery for cogeneration plant suffering severe construction delays and business interruption losses in the Dominican Republic
  • Won dismissal of all claims against major United States insurer in coverage lawsuit involving claims of underpayment on more than 1,000 home repairs relating to multiple policy holders
